You can also read the articles we post in the top right hand corner of our blog "What the Internet Has to Say" (for more on this read point 3 about RSS readers in the Further Viral section below)

The viral campaign starts when you start pushing. Aside from telling everyone you know and posting status updates regularly to all your friends there are even more cunning new ways you can help build this campaign. So if you found that last part easy or just want some more check out the section below: Further Viral

The Wiki

If you haven't watched it yet watch it now: the power of the wiki

And if you haven't visited it yet, visit it now www.wikiuncut.com

You should have a pretty good idea by now of the power of the wiki. We intend it to be the very heart of our internet campaign

We will catalogue every single proposed cut to every single department
We will catalogue every single reason why every single cut is a bad idea
We will upload as much information as a means of education on the BFI organisation

When we say we, we really mean YOU! BFI Uncut is not a salaried team with time to kill it is a volunteer organisation and if all it's members do nothing it will be nothing. You are the architect. Get going!

On top of the three main goals above we will build from the BFI Uncut page on the wiki:

If you hear a rumour whatever it is, add it to this page. From this page we will have 2 links Verified Rumours and Falsified Rumours. Everyone will look at the rumours page and if they have evidence that confirms or falsifies the rumour then they will move that rumour to the appropriate page along with the evidence.

e.g. Rumour: Eddie Berg (Artistic Director of the BFI Southbank) spent £4,000 in expenses last month. If this rumour is circulating the BFI and it is untrure then that is NOT fair on Eddie, and he would have the opportunity to falsify it. If it is true then a few people might be interested to know this. ;-)

The key point is you cannot stop people spreading wild rumours but at least with the wiki we could stop irresponsible rumours leading to irresponsible action or we can shine a light on abuses of power.

Investigations/Campaigns
So far, between us we have come up with 3 major lines of investigation all clearly linked to on our main wiki page BFI Uncut.

If you think there are other areas we should be investigating or campaigns we should be fighting for, please drop us a line at bfiuncut@gmail.com

All three of these campaigns/investigations will start from very humble text documents on the wiki and build into very persuasive and complex wikipedia style pages as the wiki becomes more organised and you guys add more and more data.

WikiSummary
The wiki is a completely flexible and decentralised tool if you can think of a cool way to use it that no one else has go ahead! Don’t wait for permission but don't forget to tell everybody so we can follow your lead.

1. Suggest the facebook page to friends

Just below the main logo in the top left hand corner of our facebook page there is a link labelled 'suggest to friends' - CLICK IT! We suggest that you suggest to all friends. You might be surprised who responds.

2. Put a like box on your blog. (or suggest the same to a friends blog)

If you follow this link then you will find some programming code that you can add to your blog that will give a brand new shiny like box like the one we have in the top right hand corner of this blog. This tool will allow regular readers of your blog to come across our campaign and support it. The more people do this, the faster our campaign will grow.

3. Get an RSS Reader

Besides this being the easiest way to keep up with the blogosphere it is also a great way to spread the word of our campaign. An RSS feed turns a webpage into a line of text. So instead of visiting your favourite blogs and checking for new posts your favourite blogs come to you in the form of a simple email style post. This tool is particularly awesome if you are a smartphone user. If you download an RSS reader app (we recommend the google app) you can open it, your phone will download 100 articles for example in seconds (it's just text) and then you can read the internet on the tube!

It's also very easy to share these feeds, in fact the first widget on our blog "What the Internet Has to Say" is simply our shared RSS feeds and we update it everyday.

For more ideas on how you can use this awesome technology to spread the word check out our RSS reader topic on the discussions page of our facebook page.

So you know what we're fighting for. This is how we are fighting:

Our philosophy is decentralization and collectivism. If you can think of a good idea, we're all behind you!
